Hiya, Silver Wolf here with some exciting and saddening news. To start with, some beloved Creators have recently been let go, including Mitch Krpata, who, according to his blog, was the “‘Senior Story Developer and Narrative Designer'” of Poptropica for many years. Along with his blog post, he recently composed a Tweet mentioning his departure:
BEGIN YOUR JOURNEY. Explore a chain of islands, travel back in time, battle monsters, solve mysteries, and complete many quests in Poptropica ®, a virtual world created by Jeff Kinney, author of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid book series!
I always imagined that if I were unemployed I would have the opportunity and the inspiration to follow my dreams. I guess now I get to find out!
- 2011: Poptropica: The Official Guidebook was released! That was an awesome first five years of Poptropica! And remember to stay tuned for more. The Poptropica Creators came out with this picture as a part of Flashback Fridays that featured a Poptropican running away from a Zomberry. Reminds me of the first time I came face to face with one, though.
- The Poptropica GoComics site now has an About page, which introduces the comic and cast.Unlike the graphic novel series, Mya is not part of the comics. There is also a mobile app for the Pop comics, but it doesn’t seem to be updated, and the FunBrain page for Pop comics has strangely disappeared.

Krpata wrote four (amazing) Poptropica books, including Poptropica: The End of Time, Poptropica: The Secret Society, Poptropica: The Lost Expedition, and the Poptropica Island Creator Kit. Possibly what he is best and most fondly known for by the community is being Captain Crawfish, an author on the Poptropica Creators’ Blog and the narrator for Poptropica video walkthroughs. He’ll be greatly missed, and we’ll always remember his humor. Hopefully he does get to follow his dreams!
Nate Greenwall, known for creating Dr. Hare, has also left Poptropica, expressing his gratitude for working for Poptropica in a Tweet:
I’m grateful for the chance I had to work on Poptropica, and make it become an important part of many kids’ lives. Also Dr. Hare will always be one of my favorite creations. It has been an epic adventure, now on to the next chapter! #poptropica#drharepic.twitter.com/7fTDDVKd0e

He’ll be greatly missed as well, but sadly he is not the last to leave. Lance Fry, a 2D artist, has not directly mentioned his exit from Poptropica, but it is known that he left too. Additionally, there could be others who were let go but have yet to be discovered by the community, as Christine Capota, the Director of Product Management for StoryArc Media, hinted:
If anyone is looking to hire amazing 2D artists and animators – I know many who were just laid off today. DM me!

So what does this mean? Well, I’ll be honest: it’s not looking good. Letting go senior employees with years and years of experience is not a positive sign, whether for financial reasons or not. It’s also worth mentioning that there hasn’t been a post on the Creators’ Blog since December 18th, another not-so-good sign.
A Poptropica Odyssey!
Island Guide - Tips and Tricks!
Welcome to 24 Carrot Island, Poptropica's 4th island, released in 2008! This island is full of mystery and intrigue as you enter your mission to help determine what the evil Dr. Hare is up to!
Your first task is to return Whiskers the cat to her owner, Charlie. Like a typical cat, Whiskers is in no rush to get home, so you'll have to lure her.
POPTROPICA TIP: Take the empty bowl in the house to the Carrot King Diner where you can ask the waitress for some milk.
